Reservations
Reservations for MWR Navy Getaways Vacation Rentals can be made 12 months in advance for active duty and their dependents, six months in advance for retirees, dependents and DoD civilians. Cancellation policy is 30 days in advance. No daily maid service, no pets allowed and maximum stay is two weeks. Make reservations as soon as you know your arrival date. The months of October through April lodging is always booked.
Pets
If you are PCSing to the area, you may stay in the MWR Navy Getaways Vacation Rentals and may have your pets with you; additionally the Navy Lodge has several rooms that are pet friendly. It is highly suggested that arrangements be made before your arrival to Key West. You may find a large nonrefundable deposit is required at some hotels in the area. Boarding facilities in the Keys are limited and fees vary depending on the animal's weight. Calculate this substantial cost in your anticipated budget if you have a pet.
Service Members with Families
Command and Housing are recommending service members not to bring family members until housing has been obtained. Two and four bedroom quarters have an estimated waiting list of 30 days. Quick math (30 days X $60 per night) + ($15+ per pet per day x 30 days) = $2,250 before food. Lodging in town is much higher (up to $250 per day). Please think twice before bringing your family.
After checking with MWR and Navy Lodge, if they do not have available lodging then phone Navy Gateway Inns & Suites. You can book rooms 30 days in advance. A standard room with one queen bed is $60 and there is a suite option. We do not allow pets at any NGIS locations. Our busy months are from October through May.
